When in the Southwest, eat Mexican. That should be a billboard.
I arrived at my hotel (Red Roof Phoenix West, great place, and inexpensive) and asked the front desk what local place she would recommend for dinner? No hesitation – “the place across the street, see it, with the red roof.” So, I went. And I wasn’t disappointed.
Friendly and prompt service.
All other patrons were hispanic as well (so you know that has to be good Mexican food)!
Two kinds of salsa – both were kicked up, which I like.
The food came quickly which is always good so I don’t eat the whole basket of chips!
More food then you could want or have room to eat for 7.50$
Fabulous pico (best I’ve had) and quacamole (such a good combo with cheese and sour cream).
My only slight complaint: the chicken rolled tacos I got – maybe a tad dry on their own. But, when you eat it the way they were prepared (with guac, cheese, sour cream, and salsa) they are really yummy.
So, when in West Phoenix, eat some Mexican!
